DIFF INSIDE FILM with Filmmaker Miles Hargrove
Filmmaker Miles Hargrove was the featured guest on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, for DIFF INSIDE FILM, part of the DIFF educational screening and talk series.
The program included a screening of the film, MIRACLE FISHING: KIDNAPPED ABROAD, which tells the story of his dad’s 1994 kidnapping by guerilla fighters in Colombia. The Hargrove family’s experience became the basis for the highly embellished 2000 thriller PROOF OF LIFE, starring Russell Crowe and Meg Ryan, for which Hargrove was hired by director Taylor Hackford to capture the making-of footage. This led Hargrove to a nearly decade-long career shooting behind-the-scenes on feature films, including three Harry Potter movies.
The screening was followed by a Q&A with Miles Hargrove moderated by DIFF Artistic Director James Faust.
