The inaugural DIFF SHORTS Film Festival, held August 23-25, 2024, has released the winners of the 2024 Audience Awards:
Best Narrative Short Film – Twenty – Directed by Jason Hogan
Best First-Time Filmmaker – You’re Invited to Tuscan’s 5th Birthday Party! – Directed by Lee Eddy
Best Texas Film – Smoke Cheyyaku Bro (Don’t Smoke Bro) – Directed by Prithvi Raj Karreddula
Best Music Video – THE DEEP ROLLING: MAGMA – Directed by
Robin Scovill
Best College Student Film – Chicken Fingers – Directed by
Zoe Dahmen
Best High School Student Film – Behind the Scenes: the short film – Directed by Valentina El Harizi
Best Documentary Film – Crystal: Story of A Girl from Texas – Directed by Michelle Mower
The inaugural festival was held at Angelika Film Center Dallas in Mockingbird Station, and featured 108 short films in 15 themed blocks, along with four industry panels, daily red carpets, filmmaker happy hours, and other special events.
