“Film and Franco” Series Launches at the Meadows Museum

FILMS EXPLORE EFFECTS OF FRANCO’S DICTATORSHIP

A screening of PARALLEL MOTHERS launched the “Film and Franco” series this evening at the Meadows Museum. The series features in-person screenings with a brief talk to introduce the films and relate them to themes in the museum’s current exhibition, In the Shadow of Dictatorship: Creating the Museum of Spanish Abstract Art.

Presented in collaboration with Dallas Film, the screening was introduced by James Faust, DIFF Artistic Director (left), and Alex Garcia Topete, DIFF Lead Programmer of Latino and International Programming (right).

The next screening is April 27 and features THE SPIRIT OF THE BEEHIVE, widely regarded as the greatest Spanish film of the 1970s.
