Our film education series, INSIDE FILM, was presented on March 1 at Violet Crown Dallas with special guests, filmmakers Brandon Oldenburg and Limbert Fabian, and DIFF Artistic Director James Faust. Students, parents and teachers from area high schools visited with and viewed works by the award-winning local duo, who recently founded Department of Wonder.

Brandon Oldenburg is an Academy Award-winning film director, designer and immersive storyteller. In addition to winning an Academy Award, Brandon has received four Emmy Awards, multiple Cannes Lions Awards, including the Grand Prix, and a host of other industry accolades. Prior to Department of Wonder, Brandon co-founded Reel FX, Moonbot Studios and Flight School Studio, all leaders in animation and emerging technology storytelling.

Limbert Fabian is an Emmy Award-winning director, illustrator, designer and immersive storyteller. He has directed a variety of animated projects including the Clio Award-winning “The Boy Who Learned to Fly”, a short film based on Olympian Usain Bolt’s childhood. Most notably, his directorial contribution to “The Scarecrow”, a film and game experience for Chipotle, has won every major advertising award including the Cannes Grand Prix, Clio Award, and Webby Award.
