PREY Screening with Producer Jhane Myers

We were pleased to welcome producer Jhane Myers as the special guest for a screening of PREY as we celebrated Indigenous Peoples in partnership with the Inter-Tribal Council of AT&T Employees-#ICAE on October 16 at Violet Crown Cinema Dallas.

During the Q&A with DIFF Artistic Director James Faust, Jhane shared behind-the-scenes experiences filming PREY in Calgary, Alberta, and answered audience questions about the project, which was the most-watched premiere across all films and television series on Hulu in the United States.

PREY is a 2022 American science fiction film in the Predator franchise. It serves as a prequel to previous films, being set in the Northern Great Plains in 1719. The story revolves around a young Comanche woman, Naru, who is striving to prove herself as a hunter. She finds herself having to protect her people from a vicious, humanoid alien that hunts humans for sport, as well as from French fur traders who are destroying the buffalo they rely on for survival.

Special thanks to Violet Crown Dallas; Lorenzo Hotel Dallas, Tapestry Collection by Hilton; and DIFF Board Member Rachel Salinas – National President of the Inter-Tribal Council of AT&T Employees-#ICAE.

“DIFF Presents” year-round programming is supported by grants from City of Dallas Office of Arts and Culture, Dallas Tourism Public Improvement District, Moody Fund for the Arts, National Endowment for the Arts, and Texas Commission on the Arts.
