Every year, DIFF Shorts takes on a new personality. This year, it’s the bluebonnet: iconic, a little wild, here for a short time, and hard to miss when it shows up.

Short films don’t need a lot of time to leave an impression. They can be strange, funny, moving, unexpected, or completely unforgettable — sometimes all in just a few minutes. Like bluebonnets, their time may be brief, but that doesn’t make the impact any smaller.

Founded in 2006 on the principle that film should be placed on the same pedestal as other art forms, DIFF is committed to supporting short films and the filmmakers who bring them to life.
We believe short films are a unique and powerful medium for storytelling, deserving of the same recognition, celebration, and audience as feature films.
DIFF Shorts goes beyond the screen. Throughout the weekend, audiences can connect with filmmakers through Q&As and panel discussions, hear more about their creative processes, and experience the community that forms when filmmakers and audiences come together.
